The sweet, woody aroma of Palo Santo is unmistakable, known as a revered and sacred wood, it is traditionally used to cleanse spaces and uplift energy - Gently clearing the air and inviting in a sense of ease and presence. 

Harvested in Peru through the 1980s, Subtle Bodies Palo Santo is sourced exclusively from an old, stockpile of aged wood. All Subtle Bodies incense sticks are pure wood products with no added perfume or fragrance. Each burns with a distinct, yet delicately scented smoke trail.

Palo Santo, which means "holy wood" in Spanish, is a sacred tree native to South America, primarily found in countries such as Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia. It holds significant cultural and spiritual importance among various indigenous communities in the region. With a history dating back centuries, it is long intertwined with rituals, traditional medicine, and spiritual practice. As with any sacred plant or resource, it is essential to approach its use with respect, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to sustainability.

Created in 2017, Subtle Bodies is a range of products grounded in purity, quality and tradition. Completely free of perfumes, oils or additives their natural incense are a genuine expression of pure, fragrant wood.

To create the finest natural incense available, Subtle Bodies work closely with specialist artisans worldwide - all who have a lasting connection with the type of wood they choose to focus on. Unlike other incense on the market, their Japanese style sticks have only two ingredients; the fragrant wood as their name suggests and a natural binding wood from either Machilus thunbergii, Litsea glutinosa or Phoebe zhennan.

This single origin approach ensures full transparency, with a genuine understanding and appreciation of each incense.
